Reading frenzy

I'm jealous at how quickly you get through books. I'm quite a slow reader and I get such a short amount of time each day to read. I loved the Kite Runner and am really looking forward to A Thousand Splendid Suns but am working my way through Love in the time of Cholera at the mo (started reading it before I knew about the film)
I really want to read this book, but I've not been able to get a copy anywhere here in Chicago Public Libraries! Thanks for the review. I've heard really good things about the book.
When I was young, I think I read Eliot's "Silas Marner" or at least parts of it. For some reason, I had an old paperback copy of it, but never read "Middlemarch," but have heard good things. Will have to put on my list of classics to read...I also would like to read both "The Kite Runner" and "A Thousand Splendid Suns." They're on my list. It's just that there are so many good books out there.
It is true, I do read quickly, but I'll have to share my secret. I listen to a lot of books on CD or Tape in my car, so I can go through more books that normally I could have. It also makes good use of the time I have to spend tooling around my neck of the woods.
That's a good way of doing it, although I think I would miss imagining the characters voices for myself if that doesn't sound too silly.
Unfortunately or fortunately whichever way you see it I don't have a car and cycle to work so it isn't really safe to do while I'm commuting but I might try it the next time I'm on a long flight.
A friend of mine puts books on her MP3 player when she goes on holiday so she doesn't even have to hold the book when she is lying by the pool - it's the ultimate in holiday laziness.
I read Khalid's first book, The Kite Runner, and loved it. I've been meaning to pick this up, sounds really good. Thanks.
